The stretch of I-77 and the corridor around Akron-Canton Airport in Green has pulled in enough logistics and fulfillment operations that distribution center roofing has become its own category of work for us, separate from a standard warehouse. Rooftop Equipment Serving a 24/7 Building
Distribution centers running climate-controlled zones for temperature-sensitive inventory carry heavier rooftop mechanical loads than a standard dry warehouse - larger RTUs, sometimes refrigeration equipment, more curbs and more penetrations concentrated around the zones that need tighter climate control. Each of those curbs is a place a membrane can fail, and on a building that never shuts down, a leak over a climate-controlled zone is a bigger problem than one over dry storage.

Working Nights Without Disrupting Night Shift
A lot of distribution work in this corridor runs a night shift, which means "off hours" for roofing purposes doesn't always mean quiet on the ground below. When a leak opens up over product that's actively moving through the building, speed matters more than anything else. That two-step approach - stop the water first, fix it right second - keeps a bad afternoon from becoming a bad week.
We also flag a difference most facilities managers appreciate once it's pointed out: an emergency response that stops water is not the same job as a permanent repair, and treating the tarp as "done" instead of scheduling the follow-up fix is how a building ends up with the same leak reopening during the next storm. A lot of the distribution space along this corridor is leased to third-party logistics operators running the building on behalf of a brand that owns the goods but not the roof.
